Dr Antony Friedman is a specialist Gastroenterologist, IBDologist and Gastrointestinal Ultrasonographer. Antony is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and received his postgraduate research qualifications after leading several clinical trials focusing on patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
As part of his work, Antony completed an Intestinal Ultrasound Fellowship at the Ospedale Luigi Sacco, Milan, Italy to become Australia’s first intestinal ultrasonographer. He established Australia’s first Gastrointestinal Ultrasound Unit at The Alfred Hospital and Monash University where he is on staff as a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Head of Intestinal Ultrasound. Antony currently leads an active research program focusing on gastrointestinal ultrasound in IBD.
