Rob McGregor lives in Canberra currently is the founder and Co Director of USVASC pty ltd and senior tutor for Insight Clinical Services. Rob obtained undergraduate qualifications in Diagnostic Radiography and subsequently obtained the Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (General) and the Diploma of Medical Ultrasound (Vascular). He has a long history of guiding and tutoring those preparing for examinations and the various graduate diplomas in medical ultrasound.
Rob has worked as a
• senior qualified sonographer,
• Chief sonographer and tutor
• Advisor to government and
• training advisor
Rob has lead research and development particularly within vascular and musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Rob is currently enrolled in a PhD by original research through the University of Canberra with the goal developing treatment protocols to improve the treatment of severe varicose vein disease.
In addition Rob has had a number of significant roles as an advocate for the sonography profession including;
Australasian Sonographers Association (ASA) councillor including a term as President.
Chairperson of the Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR).
Rob worked as an advisor providing advice on issues relating to medical ultrasound for the Australian Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing and was the first sonographer to do so.
Rob established and administered the Canberra School of Sonography (CSS) and the Australian School of Medical Imaging (ASMI).
Rob established a dedicated vascular ultrasound company and continues in that role now.
